Good experience with Lian Li Case Manufacture

August 21, 2007 · 1 Comment

I’ve been the proud owner of the Lian Li PC-V600B for about 6.5 months and everyone who sees my case just falls in love. However, about 1 week ago i noticed a slight squeak coming from inside the case and thought, “oh it will go away” well it hasn’t. This is day 11 and the squeak is getting more annoying and louder everyday. I’ve narrowed it down to the front 12cm fan. For the time being i have disconnected the fan but I feel this shouldn’t be happening for a product that is less then 1 year old. I’m hoping that Lian Li will send a replacement fan.

So after Several emails to various customer service reps via the website i finally got a response from Baron.

Stating that he would send me a replacement fan from Twain. This was on August 3rd. On August 16th it arrived at the USPS branch for pickup.

So all good things come to those who wait. Now to install this massive 120mm fan will be another task.

Sincerely
Jeff M

360 Cores and Premiums with HDMI in the near future.

August 8, 2007 · Leave a Comment

The Xbox 360 hardware should be seeing an update in the near future. The rumor mill has started to propose that the HDMI connection is coming to all platforms. That means that the Core & Premium bundles should be receiving HDMI. On top of that those of us who have waited shall also see production of the 65nm cpu and new motherboard with better cooling.

According to sources, Microsoft wants to cut through all their existing inventory of hardware. They will then quietly “soft launch” a new version of the Core and Premium hardware in late August or September *i bet later* that will include an HDMI port. I mean why would microsoft still manufacture 2 different types of motherboards. It’s also expected that this new hardware will feature the 65nm process for the CPU and quieter DVD drives. The new hardware will ship in boxes very similar to what we saw on store shelves now, but there will be a small “call out” on the box so you know you’re getting a system with the HDMI connection.

This makes sense. We can expect the 65nm machines to launch any time now, and with the launch of the Halo-edition system only the Cores and Premiums will lack the HDMI, this revision will make the connection standard. We also know Microsoft will be fixing the heating issues that caused their costly warranty extension, and bundling all these updates into one product moving forward would be a smart move.
